Welcome to the Island - No Jimmy Buffet, the KITCHEN Island.
Written on March 16, 2017
By Stanley Martin Homes
Ever feel like you could run the world from your kitchen island? Well, maybe not THE world, but most certainly your own world. You can cook, entertain, pay bills, read blogs, write thank you notes, wrap presents, help with homework, shop online, Skype with Mom, and construct a science project all from the comfort of your own kitchen island. It's where you gather, eat, hold family meetings, and talk about life together. It's not just an island, it's the family command center and we're here to celebrate it.
Kids are at school, you're at work, and everyone is longing for the summer nights of crab feasts and cornhole. But in the midst of all the chaos, you learn just how much you rely on your island (READ: command center) and how life in your home is easier...better, because of it.
The kids can sit at the island stools and work on homework while you and/or your partner work on dinner and during that precious time you engage and you reconnect as a family around the island. So in addition to all that functionality, the island serves a valuable emotional component as well. And once the week is over, you and a close friend can sit at the island, wine glass in hand, and toast to one another for making it through.
So while it may not be Bermuda or Barbados, this island is pretty incredible in its own right. That's why Stanley Martin includes large, functional kitchen islands in every home we build.
