Just built and now open for tours, The Breckenridge, Stanley Martin's newest single-family home model, makes its debuts at The Cascades at Two Rivers, Anne Arundel County, Maryland's all-inclusive community within commuting distance of Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Annapolis.
We asked Karen Halle, Senior Project Architect at Stanley Martin Homes, to share highlights and (most importantly) her favorite features about the refreshed home design.
Compared to other single-family home designs, what is the most distinctive features and updates about the Breckenridge model?
The Breckenridge evolved from one of our more popular home designs, The Kennington. Both the top-floor loft with outdoor terrace and the 10-foot ceiling are design updates to The Breckenridge and new features for Stanley Martin; we'll be adding to more and more design models.
Can share any design inspiration for the Breckenridge?
Specific to the exterior, Stanley Martin is looking toward updating elevations to be less colonial and more craftsman-style features.
What's your favorite update and feature about the Breckenridge and why?
The outdoor terrace loft level and the coffered ceilings are great options; but for me, it is the 10-foot ceilings.
Ten-foot ceilings on the main level allows us to design with 9-foot garage doors and 7-foot tall windows - which brings in lots of natural light and makes the home inviting.
The Breckenridge by the Numbers
