Engineering Manager Reston, VA

Engineering Manager

Stanley Martin Homes is currently looking for a Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager is responsible for all aspects of engineering project management including managing consulting engineers, surveyors, and attorneys. The individual will also provide limited supervision in an advisory capacity to the Assistant Engineering Managers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage engineering site plan preparation and approvals from preliminary plan to bond release
  • Manage legal consultants with deed of subdivision, easements, and creation of HOA
  • Manage permitting activities for site development and house design and construction for assigned jurisdictions
  • Manage and coordinate contracts with consultants
  • Manage preparation of house grading plans by consultants
  • Review plans with SMC staff prior to submission to municipalities
  • Conduct meetings in-house to coordinate land acquisitions and development information in accordance with SMC policy
  • Assist land development estimator in preparation and management of land development budgets for assigned neighborhoods
  • Attend NVBIA and municipal update meetings and seminars
  • Represent the company professionally in all interaction with customers and local jurisdictions

Description: The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the processing of accounts payable and maintenance of vendor files.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsible for processing of invoices and check requests
Research and resolve problem invoices with appropriate departments
Reconcile vendor statements monthly to keep assigned accounts current
Act as point of contact for vendor inquires, to include preparation of written communications and associated files
Complete daily and weekly check runs
Make out of cycle payments as approved by manager
Complete all other duties as assigned by manager

We are currently searching for an Assistant Sales Manager. The Assistant Sales Manager represents Stanley Martin Homes and is responsible for supporting the sales office or model home, as well as providing information to prospective homebuyers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet customers in a professional manner while interviewing them to determine their needs and requirements in a new home and community.
  • Provide customer service to all prospective home-buyers about Stanley Martin homes and communities
  • Coordinate opening and closing of sales office as needed
  • Assist the Neighborhood Sales Manager with collection and documentation of pertinent homebuyer information and characteristics
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
  • Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for office and field warranty employees, subcontractors and homeowners.
  • Adhere to and promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Stanley Martin Homes.

Position Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years of sales experience, residential sales preferred

  • The work schedule will never be more than five days a week. Since the days and hours of our Model homes are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am-6:00pm some weekend hours may/will be required.

Neighborhood Sales Manager


We have openings for Sales Manager for our new neighborhoods. The Sales Manager represents Stanley Martin Homes and is responsible for the sales office or model home, as well as providing information to prospective homebuyers.


Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage on-site sales and provide product and house information to prospective home buyers
Maintain contact with the purchaser from contract signing through to settlement
Manage and create sales technique for developing new leads
Administration of sales contracts and reporting of home sales, lot status and inventory
Maintenance of model home and marketing material for home buyers (brochures, price lists, etc.)
Ensure property listings in the MRIS, New Homes Guide and other “list” publications
Maintain Community Data Notebook of project including services, facilities, and products
Coordinate and attend pre-construction meeting, pre-drywall walk, and pre-closing orientation
Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers and home buyers
Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
