Vice President of Production        Northern VA
Description:
Vice President of Production (Northern VA)


The Vice President of Production is responsible for managing all construction and warranty operations, subcontractor and vendor field activities, quality control, budgeting, and adherence to safety standards in the Northern Virginia Division and for providing leadership to the senior production and warranty staff, who directly report to the position.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Continuously recruit, hire, and train a world-class production and warranty team.
Coordinate with the Purchasing Department regarding product and lot budgets, materials and scopes of work.
Coordinate with the Architecture Department regarding implementation of and adherence to construction drawings.
Manage the Warranty Department directly and through supervision by the Directors of Field Operations to achieve the complete and timely resolution of warranty-covered items with Stanley Martin homeowners.
Manage the Directors of Field Operations.
Manage the Permit Process to include implementation of new plans and approvals from various local governments.
Establish, implement, and enforce strategic goals, standard operating procedures and risk management objectives, as well as warranty/customer service and construction best practices for field operations.
Oversee Construction of a New Design Studio in 2015.
Establish and manage production expectations.
Establish measurement tools to maintain construction excellence.
Establish processes and measurement tools to achieve excellence in customer service based on stated metrics for customer satisfaction.
Develop cost reduction programs while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
Review post-construction analysis of all unexpected costs and problems encountered during construction operations for each unit.
Conduct final neighborhood start meeting, neighborhood specification meeting and prototype frame walks.
Lead Production and Warranty Department meetings.
Direct and guide the Stanley Martin Homes Trade Council on an on-going basis.
Collaborate with production teams in other Stanley Martin divisions to collect and share best practices.
Spend an appropriate time in the field with the Production Team and Director of Field Operations on an on-going basis.
Work closely with the Land Engineering and Land Development Departments to minimize mistakes and major cost overruns.
Work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure that goals are being met.
Ensure and promote “Best Practice Operating Procedures” to limit legal and financial exposure.
Maintain and strictly enforce the safety program, which meets OSHA standards and assures a safe environment for employees, subcontractors, vendors, homeowners and the public.
Complete all other duties as assigned by the Divisional Vice President.
